Morbark Blizzard 12 Brush Chipper

Morbark Blizzard 12 Chipper

Simple, powerful and rugged, the Model 12 Blizzard weighs in at 5,700 pounds and has horsepower ranges from 65 – 116.

Targeted to municipalities, tree services, equipment fleets and rental stores, the Blizzard is designed to fit the niche for an affordable, basic 12” capacity drum-style chipper.

Standard equipment includes a large diameter single top feed wheel that easily walks up on larger diameter material and prevents material wrapping.  This rugged machine also features an easily adjustable discharge deflector, height adjustable, 360-degree manual crank swivel discharge chute, air impeller, hydraulic feed wheel lift, folding infeed tray, telescoping tongue and a live engine-driven hydraulic system.  This hydraulic system uses the hydraulic motor to power a chain and sprocket driven feed roller, multiplying the torque and eliminating stalling problems.  This feature also eliminates troublesome direct coupling designs.

Morbark Blizzard 12 ChipperMaintenance on the Blizzard is made fast and easy with the dual hydra-lift system, which uses live hydraulics to lift the feed wheel for quick routine maintenance and inspections without engaging the chipper drum.  Knife changes are also simple and can be accomplished in as little as 10 minutes.  Also, there are no nuts or washers behind the knife to fall into the chipper housing.

Options include hydraulic swivel discharge, rubber infeed curtain, tongue jack with castor, variable speed flow control, clear coat on paint, radiator brush guard, and a safety stop on the infeed.

Features:

  • Height adjustable, 360 degree manual crank swivel discharge chute with easily adjustable four-position discharge deflector is made of heavy steel.
  • The air impeller is integrated into the chipper housing, providing controlled airflow to assist in carrying leafy, light material.
  • Heavy duty, lockable, bolt-on resin toolbox is large enough to handle all tooling needs.
  • Hydraulic lift assist on the feed wheel provides for ease of routine maintenance.
  • Standard automatic feed system maximizes chipping capability, increases fuel economy, and allows the engine to work witnin its peak efficiency range.
  • Heavy duty, 3 position, 1.5" diameter steel tubular control bar provides forward, neutral and reverse positions for positive feeding action.
  • Folding lockable infeed tray helps reduce overall machine length.
  • Large diameter top feed wheel with spring assist down pressure and manual hydraulic down pressure allows smoother feeding and more efficient climbing and crushing.
  • Six-thousand pound Torflex axle with LT245/75R x 16, 16-ply radial tires provide worry free use on or off the road.
  • Bolt-on aluminum diamond plate fenders are corrosion resistant and easily removed when necessary.
  • Fully welded 2" x 4" tubular steel frame with 4" square tube main center beam eliminates material collection within the frame walls.
  • Four-inch square telescoping tongue incorporates two 12" extensions, two 3/16" safety chains with clasp hook and an electric break away actuator for optional versatility and transport safety.
  • Durable two position, five-thousand pound tongue jack securely pins aways for transporation and is removeable to prevent theft.
  • Lockable steel battery box protects against damage and theft.
  • Chipper contains a "live" engine driven hydraulic system.
  • Instrument panel provides a full instrumentation cluster, including an automatic shutdown system for high temperature and low oil pressure. Instrument panel and engine enclosure are lockable to protect against theft & damage.
  • The 55" x 33" infeed chute allows unrestricted flow of limby material. Chainsaw time is dramatically reduced and production capabilities increase.
  • A huge 12" x 20" throat opening guarantees the ability to feed large volumes of brushy, llimby material. There is minimal "dead" space behind the roller, eliminating jamming problems.
  • Knife changes can take place in as little as 10 minutes. There are no nuts or washers behind the knife to fall into the chipper housing.
  • The hydraulic system uses the hydraulic motor to power a chain and sprocket driven feed roller, multiplying the torque and eliminating stalling problems. The also elminates troublesome direct coupling designs.
  • The dual Hydra-Lift system uses live hydraulics to lift the feed wheel for quick routine inspections without engaging the chipper drum. Down pressure is also available for extensive crushing power.
  • A PTO to engange the chipper is standard equipment on the Blizzard 12.
